About Vitiligo & Study

Vitiligo is a condition that causes depigmentation of patches of skin. It occurs when melanocytes, the cells responsible for skin pigmentation, die or are unable to function.
A randomized, controlled pilot study on the use of micro-grafting, with a new finishing process for the repigmentation of vitiligo

Where: Massachusetts General Hospital
Description: The Division of Dermatology Research Trials recruiting subjects 18 years and over with vitiligo.
The goal is to investigate the use of micro-grafts in patients with vitiligo. The study may take up to 24 weeks and takes about eight study visits.
Get up to $ 550 for participating in this study.
Selection criteria: Subject 18 years and over three comparable areas of the trunk or extremities vitiliginous (excluding hands), each of at least 3 cm x 3 cm, with at least 80% depigmentation, and expected the same exposure the sun.
If you are currently taking some medications for vitiligo, you can not participate in this study.
Please consult your doctor. Other restrictions will be explained at the screening visit.
